What is Isimangaliso World Heritage park?

Explore the Isimangaliso World Heritage park, as it is called now, from the deck of a boat cruising up Lake St Lucia.   The word isimangaliso means “a miracle” or “something wondrous” in Zulu. The name came because of Shaka’s subject having been sent to the land of the Tsonga. When he returned he described the beauty that he saw as a miracle.

Hippos snort as we glide past them in the murky waters and on the banks a crocodile slips into the water.  450 bird species can also be found in this area, making it a birders paradise.
